This is the first class in the 4-part class series where we’ll investigate the many different possibilities one prop (like a block or a blanket) or one structure (like a wall or a floor) can highlight for our bodies when we tune into the stimulus-response cycle it facilitates for us while we move with it, against it, on it, into it, away from it, across and over it, and more.
In this class you will:
- Partake in a complete, well-rounded, and progressive yoga sequence that explores the different mechanisms of feedback one block offers.
- Investigate creative ways a block can increase or decrease load and range of motion.
- Play with how a block can provide touch stimulation and offer new avenues of coordination and connection.
- Spice up “old” poses or movements and make them new again.
This class, and all the classes in the series, offers generous space for movement and discovery, with the backbone of a carefully curated curriculum and plenty of context around the body science “why”. Laurel shares her thought process throughout for why she’s making certain choices as a teacher and who, specifically, might benefit.
